not looking good for timewarner

Posted under Lost thoughts

Things aren’t looking too bright for Timewarner Cable. Even after having
all of our lines replaced and a solid signal toned out, the modem still
refuses to route traffic after about 8 hours. This is modem number 5.
A tech is on the way out and they have 1 last shot, after that, we are just
going to have to go back to a land line. Lord help us.

TimeWarner Again

Posted under Lost thoughts

So despite my earlier statements about TimeWarner and their ability to
reproduce the same sucking sound that my vaccum creates, we went ahead and
signed up with them anyways (they gave us 3 months free). Since then, we
have gone through 5 cable modems, made 3 service calls, seen two techs and
have really increased one home owners blood pressure. We have a tech onsite
right now trying to figure out what may be going on, but I have to admit, I’m
thinking that this may have been a mistake. I sure don’t mind the cable
and internet access, that stuff works pretty well, but the phone service is
hideous. About every 6 hours we have to unplug and reset the modem to get
the phones to start working again. So, we’ll see what this guy can come up
with.

The Noah roadshow

Posted under Lost thoughts

Noah’s first overnight trip was a huge success. We loaded him up into the
new explorer just after 3:30pm and made St Louis around 8:30. He slept or
played the whole time and seemed to really enjoy himself. The only hiccup
came early Sunday morning. He woke up coughing and gagging around 2am, seems
like he has a lot of sinus drainage and doesn’t know what to do, so every
time he inhales, he gets a lung full of gross. We snuckerd him out the best
that we could, but I just got done tending to him a few minutes ago because
he was having the same problem.
Jess and I got a little time to ourselves while we were out in St Louis. We
went to a great Italian place and walked around for a bit. We got to stop in
and visit Jessi’s sister and see all the work that they are doing on their
new house, and then we buzzed over to Ashland and saw most of my family for
a little bit. Unfortunatly, my allergies kicked in right on time, so today
begins the first day of my house arrest :-(
