Big man down!

Posted under Lost thoughts

So I started with a new Hapkido instructor last Saturday.  This new teacher
is really an amazing athlete and knows his art backwards and forwards. Im
very excited to be studying there.  The only downside is that I am having to
unlearn a lot of the training that I have had, which means I am bending in
some really weird ways during my falls.  The net result is that I come home
really bruised and banged up (I bruised my neck tonight, how in the hell do
you bruise your neck?) but, like any guy, I love it.
Bones heal
Chicks dig scars
and the US has the best Dr to idiot ratio in the world.

So I think Im good :-)

The script kiddie prayer

Posted under Lost thoughts

Time for my prayers:
Our Father, who 0wnz heaven, j00 r0ck!
May all 0ur base someday be belong to you!
May j00 0wn earth just like j00 0wn heaven.
Give us this day our warez, mp3z, and pr0n through a phat pipe.
And cut us some slack when we act like n00b lamerz, just as we teach n00bz when they act lame on us.
Please don’t give us root access on some poor d00d’z box when we’re too pissed off to think about what’s right and wrong, and if you could keep the fbi off our backs, we’d appreciate it.
For j00 0wn r00t on all our b0x3s 4ever and ever, 4m3n.

SPAM sucks

Posted under Lost thoughts

Im having a small problem with a spammer out east. Seems he has decided to
attach my domain name to his from address on his spams that he sends out,
which means Im getting everyones angry replies, bounced messages and
out of office assistants. We’re talking 10s of thousands of emails a day, and
that is with the spam filter running full bore. I could drop any bounce
messages, but then I wouldn’t be able to see real bounces. I tried filtering
by message or subject text, but he changes it too often. I’m just not real
sure how to prevent this garbage. My spam filter picks up a lot of it, but
obviously not enough. I tried looking :: cough :: at his machine already, but
it appears to be a compromised buisness server in Japan. Emails have gone
unanswered, but they always do to that region. So, Im thinking that it might
be time to fire up the old iptables mirror target. We’ll see.
