These ears are clean

Posted under Lost thoughts

Noah’s ear job went really well. The difference in the little guy is dramatic!
He’s flinching at sounds he never seemed to notice before and everything just
seems very new to him. We were really worried that he wouldnt be able to get
his ears worked on today because Jessi and I came down with a stomach flu
over the weekend and holidays. We were afraid that Noah would catch it and
then we would have to postpone, but once again, Mother Nature took over and
as Jessi developed anti-bodies to get her over the bug, Noah got them for free.
So, no flu, shiney new ears and relieved parents.

Deep geek ahead
First, I feel the need to applaud the crazy ninja mofos that hack on the
firefox webbrowser and its extensions. The browser is great in its own right,
but the extensions are just insane. I just finshed installing a few of my
favorites on my laptop that allow me to keep my bookmarks in sync on all of
my computers all of the time and gives me a nice single page for viewing my
daily’s. Way to go FF folks!
Second, prepare for another webpage redesign. Got some great new layouts,
RSS, a new server, all kinds of goodies. I’m even going to keep the photos
synced with our server at the house since we have an ass ton that we have not
uploaded yet.

First words?

Posted under Lost thoughts

We think we may have a first word. For two days in a row now, Noah has
charged towards the cats like a midget pirate with two wooden legs belowing
out what can only be described as cat. We’ve had some da da’s and what sounds
like dog for sometime now, but they haven’t been directed, they’ve just been
random baby babble. We took a vote and decided that since this particular
sound was directed, accurate and repeated, cat is his first word.
Yes, Cat.
The downside is that his mom and I have been upstaged by the one creature in
the house that doesn’t seem to have any interest in him at all. The upside
is that
we have our first word and
we have made a more accurate definition of first speech then the entire Kansas
School Board could make for the word Science.
