Sorry for the lack of updates. I’ve been feeling under the weather for going on a week now and just
haven’t been up to much. Noah had his #2 birthday this weekend. Jessi’s family made it over, a
good family friend and our neighbors to help spoil him rotten. Bad weather kept the Clarks and
Sprys on the other side of the interstate, but Im sure we’ll hook up again soon enough.
He got some very fun toys, the hammer we had to take away but not before we left his mark on a few
of the walls, and overall had a really great time. I’ll post more, and pictures, once Im feeling
better.

Ice Ice Baby

Posted under Lost thoughts

Jessi and I have decided that we are one of the horsemen of the apocalypse. It’s the only way
we can explain how crap weather seems to follow us. In 2002, we were in Overland Park and
got the 5 day ice storm. 2004, Biggest tornado year on record in KC. Guess where we lived. 2006 we
had ice blocks at our front door 18 to 24 inches thick. Solid ice. Had to take a sledgehammer to
them to break them up. We also had those two days of insane storms that knocked out power in St
Louis for up to 10 days. And here we are, at the start of 2007 and we’ve had ice for two days
straight. We lost power several times, sorry about the downtime, and had some really fantastic
light shows to watch as power wires shorted out all over the neighborhood.
Good times.
The ice is supposed to end today, but Noah and I have been left a little worse for wear. He brought
home some kind of cold and was kind enough to share with daddy. He’s feeling a lot better and is
currently in his big boy bed (we had to do emergency surgery to his crib. We found him hanging over
the edge, aimed head first towards the floor, just screaming his little heart out, so we took off
one of the edges and made up a new one that turns his crib into a real bed out of some melanine
shelving and a few wood screws) explaining to his bear that he is NOT tired and needs to be
released immediatly!
Mommy and Daddy disagree.
