One down, one to go

Posted under Noah

20110122120253-2Noah’s birthday party was a blast. We went to SkyZone in chesterfield which is pretty much a warehouse with trampolines floor to ceiling. They have them all connected in such a way that you can pretty much run on nothing but trampoline and get yourself good and banged up. We had some midair collisions, a few tears and a really great time.  Grandpa Saiter even took Noah out and played dodgeball with him, good times.  We want to thank everyone again for coming out, it was really one of the coolest parties I’ve been to and was just so low key and fun, I can’t wait until my birthday!

Today its noahs 6th birthday! It seems like just yesterday that he was turning one and now he’s 12 years away from college. 10 years away from driving. 6 years away from his first tattoo and already old enough to get pierced! Ah, when gen Xers have babies.  Jessi found him this sled that is styled after a snowmobile and they just so happened to have a 30 degree snowday and 9 inches of snow to play in.  Then lo and behold, another snowday today!  Love you bunches son and hope you have a wonderful birthday!

Inaras turn

Inara had a pretty craptastic week last week culminating in a trip to the hospital and several nights of no sleep.  She had been on amoxicillin for 7 days and had a reaction at about 2 in the morning on the 7th day.  By 8 she was covered in hives and hadn’t slept in awhile, so we took her to the Dr and they put her on Benadryl and no more amoxicillin.  A few hours later she had gotten worse, so we called the Dr back and they put her on Prednisolone.  She couldn’t keep that down though, so at 8pm we decided to go to the hospital. yeah, second kid gets to suffer. With Noah we would have been at the hospital at 8am.  By the time we got to the hospital, she was a mess. Totally covered in hives, the picture is an hour after all of the meds when we had been discharged, had a fever and wasn’t able to keep down any of the stuff they tried to give her. After a few hours of attempts, it was decided that it was time to bring out the needle. She got some shots, she screamed and cried and then passed right out.  The next few days were spent battling hive recurrences, trying to help her sleep and general helishness. It’s been a little over a week now and she’s pretty much back to normal, but wow what a day. Noah was his typical awesome self and got to stay the night at the neighbours house while we stayed at the hospital. Speaking of the little man, he turns 6 on Friday! Birthday plans are going to sky zone and jumping until we puke.  I start classes on Thursday (Sagan help me) and Jessi is H-O-T.
