I’m working on a project to put some whole house intelligence into our humble abode. The idea being that when all of the systems in the house, like the lighting and HVAC, are aware of all of the other systems in the house, the whole system becomes more efficient and effective. I call it Whole House Information Awareness, but that’s just because I’m a dork. To find out more and to track my progress, go to cyborgworkshop.org . I’m in the first stages right now which is data gathering.  I’ve built a microcontroller and hooked it up to a series of sensors that measure temperature and humidity in each room of the house.
